Hello and Welcome
My name is Ahanaf Tashin and I am a photographer and artist from Queens, New York by way of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Growing up and living in New York City, I am constantly enamored and fascinated by all the different personalities I come to contact with. Through my photographic practice I aim to capture these diverse subjects whether they are family, friends or strangers to create a sense of connection, community and space. My recent projects explore themes of immigration, queer gender identity and the South Asian Diaspora.
I specialize in darkroom printing (color and black and white) and contemporary digital photography by way of computer softwares such as Photoshop.
Currently, I am pursuing my BFA under the photography and imaging department at Queens College.
